ABOUT US
We engage local and national government agencies, the public and private transport sector, civil society organisations.
The economic and social participation opportunities of women critically depend on their level of mobility. Effective transport systems play a pivotal role in empowering women, girls, and gender (and sexual) minorities, particularly those from socio-economically disadvantaged and marginalised communities, facilitating their participation in economic opportunities, education, social activities, civic engagement, and personal and family health and financial management. This contributes to reclaiming the right to the city, enabling women to overcome traditional societal constraints, and fostering a sense of agency and ownership.
More about
MobiliseHER

MobiliseHER takes a holistic approach to mobility, addressing both practical needs—such as safety and accessibility—and strategic needs by establishing strong policy frameworks for gender-responsive transport and promoting community-led decision-making. Its efforts are driven by:

1. Data-Driven Solutions:
Research and analysis to design evidence-based interventions that address the mobility challenges of diverse groups.
2. Community-Centred Design:
Collaborating with communities to understand their challenges and co-create solutions that address real-world needs.
3. Pilot Interventions:
Testing solutions identified at the neighbourhood level
4. Policy Recommendations:
Developing frameworks that integrate gender-responsive and inclusive transport planning.

MobiliseHER is a three-year project, cofunded by EuropeAid, to enable gender-responsive urban mobility and create more accessible and inclusive infrastructure and services, undertaken in partnership with Urban Electric Mobility Initiative (UEMI), WRI India, CEPT Research and Development Foundation (CRDF) and Participatory Research in Asia (PRIA) India.
