Incorporating Gender Perspectives in Urban Mobility
Past Event

About Event
The MobiliseHER team is proud to announce a significant milestone with the completion of the co-design workshop. The event was inaugurated by the honorable Mayor, who highlighted the critical challenges of urban mobility.
The workshop had active participation from key agencies such as K Kochi Metro Rail Ltd, Greater Cochin Development Authority (GCDA), Goshree Islands Development Authority (GIDA), @GIZ India, @SYSTRA, and representatives from 25 civil society organizations (CSOs) engaged since the project’s inception. Insightful discussions among the participants identified major challenges faced by women, gender minorities, and differently-abled individuals in the urban mobility landscape. Through collaborative efforts, the group developed actionable and implementable solutions tailored to the specific neighbourhoods identified.
In Kochi, the project is led by Urban Electric Mobility Initiative (UEMI) in partnership with Centre for Heritage Environment and Development (c-hed), and Centre for Public Policy Research (CPPR), the project continues to drive safer, more inclusive, and equitable urban mobility.
