Uddeshya 2025 - Towards Gender - Responsive Mobility Systems

About Event

India’s urban mobility systems have the power to drive economic growth, foster inclusivity, and enhance quality of life. With rapid urbanization and infrastructural expansion, our transport systems have a tremendous opportunity to evolve into more inclusive, accessible, and resilient networks that cater to the diverse needs of all citizens—empowering women, persons with disabilities, gender and sexual minorities, and marginalized communities to fully participate in economic and social opportunities.

Uddeshya 2025’s theme, “Bridging Policy and Practice,” underscores the importance of transforming policies into impactful outcomes. Uddeshya 2025 emphasizes co-creating solutions through dialogue, shared experiences, and aligned perspectives. The event will bring together civil society organizations, govt representatives from the national, state and local levels, academicians, and industry leaders to discuss local adaptation, gender-sensitive data, and active community participation.

Uddeshya 2025 is being organized under the aegis of MobiliseHER, a three-year project, co-funded by the European Union, to enable gender-responsive urban mobility and create more accessible and inclusive infrastructure and services, undertaken in partnership with Urban Electric Mobility Initiative (UEMI), World Resources Institute (WRI) India, CEPT Research and Development Foundation (CRDF), and Participatory Research in Asia (PRIA) India.
